Job Introduction
The Frequentis Group is an international supplier of communication and information systems for control centres with safety-critical tasks. These ‘Control Centre Solutions’ are developed and distributed by Frequentis in the business segments Air Traffic Management (civil and military air traffic control, aeronautical information management, air defence) and Public Safety & Transport (police, fire and rescue services, emergency medical services, vessel traffic and railways). With headquarters in Vienna, the company employs more than 1800 people worldwide, with subsidiaries, regional offices and representatives in over 50 countries.
In Cluj we started in 2009 and our local team has currently 140+ colleagues and is growing.
As part of our team, you will actively develop products in an international environment, where experienced people will help you further develop your skills and advance in your career.
You will work on a microservices based framework used across the company to run and integrate multiple Frequentis products. You will develop reusable services, software packages and libraries to be used by other teams in the company. The product runs on RedHat 7/8, handles the deployment and configuration of the OS and supports the configuration and orchestration of services packaged as Docker images.
You will guide the transition of our platform towards cloud-ready technologies.
We are developing for a safety critical environment, following industry standards, where high availability and redundancy is a basic requirement
Key Tasks
- Technical Lead for a DevOps team and subject matter experts
- Develop/provide the recipes/instructions to automate the set-up and test of the cloud-native MosaiX© infrastructure and auxiliary layers, incl. orchestration, logging, monitoring, etc.
- Maintain the Ansible scripts needed to configure the operating system and its services as well as the deployment agent and the add-on SW packages like e.g. Docker, IPA, Authentication Gateway, Cassandra, Postgres, Etcd, RabbitMQ, etc.
- As cloud native expert you are the champion for the used 3rd party and open source components
- Provide architecture consulting to products building on the MosaiX platform, support development teams with software design and participate in design reviews, thereby ensuring alignment with the intended architecture
Key Qualifications
- You have deep knowledge of cloud native concepts including experience with service-oriented architecture based on containers, Linux, Kubernetes, OpenShift, CI/CD as well as experience with programming and scripting languages
- You have a positive mindset towards DevOps, agility and teamwork
- You keep the overall direction while being open for new technologies
- You are willing to work in a safety critical environment
- You have experience in working with cross-cultural teams
- You take over the technical leadership for the next generation platform
