Job Introduction
Frequentis Group with headquarters in Vienna is an international supplier of communication and information systems for control centres with safety-critical tasks. Worldwide, 500 customers with 30,000 workstations already trust our know-how and proven experience.

As a leading communication and information solution provider, we operate in mission critical/safety environments around the world, for example Air Traffic Control, Public Safety Emergency Services, Railways, Defence and Martime. We develop and deliver fail-safe, user-friendly, custom-tailored solutions that empowers our customers to efficiently perform their tasks. We develop mission critical solutions for “Global Maritime Distress and Safety Systems”, “Maritime Rescue Coordination Centres”, “Coastal Surveillance Systems” and systems to implement “Vessel Traffic Services”. 

For the design, implementation and integration of our new micro-service, containerized (Docker, Kubernetes) back-end services we are looking for DevOps, who is willing to learn and/or already is able to:
Key Tasks
  • Implement our Software in various programming languages (golang, typescript, python, bash, java) 
  • Support our Software development teams (located in Prague and Bratislava) with system integration in our Vienna testlab 
  • Making popular open source software ready-to-go to compose the desired solution (openldap, geoserver, Grafana, Prometheus, kibana, elastic, nginx, …) 
  • Designing and implementing various database concepts (postgis, couchdb, lucene, …) and documenting the system solution 
  • Analyzing and classifying of problems on system level to drill down to subsystem level 
  • Supporting the system archritect, the product owner and the requirements engineering team
Key Qualifications
  • University degree or student of technical university  wit focus on Computer Science or Software Engineering 
  • Software design and programming skills (any of golang, java, C/C++, C#) also in script languages (typescript, python) 
  • Profound knowledge in IP based communication (TCP/IP, IPv6, http, tsl, …) and interested in web technologies (REST, websockets, openapi) 
  • Open minded and interested in new data-center technologies like docker, Kubernetes, GIS and geospatioal processiing
  • General IT know-how (server admin, database concepts, networks, distributed systems, linux, shell, continuous integration and deployment, Jenkins for build automation) 
  • Awareness and willingness to learn software design safety relevant applications
