Job Introduction
The Frequentis Group is an international supplier of communication and information systems for control centres with safety-critical tasks. These ‘Control Centre Solutions’ are developed and distributed by Frequentis in the business segments Air Traffic Management (civil and military air traffic control, aeronautical information management, air defence) and Public Safety & Transport (police, fire and rescue services, emergency medical services, vessel traffic and railways). With headquarters in Vienna, the company employs more than 2400 people worldwide, with subsidiaries, regional offices and representatives in over 50 countries. In Cluj we started in 2009 and our local team currently has 170+ colleagues and is growing.

The department NIS S&T (Network and IT Solutions & Tools) develops IT Solutions with focus on high availability to be used in our worldwide customer projects. The spectrum we work on comprises infrastructure Solutions like our hyper converged IT platform and application Solutions like our deployment, monitoring or security Solutions. Therefore, we screen and select IT products on the market and provide them as an important part of Frequentis’ products and projects. To ensure further development and maintenance of our Solutions we extend our young team and are looking for a Senior with experience in IT infrastructure.
Key Tasks
- Technical owner and developer of our Log Monitoring Solution with focus on:
- implement features, manage security and bugfixes, automate installation/configuration
- write test cases for new features
- write user documentation
- prepare and hold technical trainings & workshops (video and live)
- evaluate new technologies within the constraints of the solution.
- Expansion and pushing ahead with automation using Ansible, with focus on the automatization of the deployment system.
- Interface function to the Frequentis product teams
Key Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure and automation
- Knowledge in system administration: RedHat/CentOS
- Experience with network and application monitoring tools (Zabbix)
- Experience with build tools (Jenkins, Git, Maven)
- Experience with the ELK Stack/OpenSearch (Logstash, Elasticsearch and Kibana)
- Exposure to different log formats (Syslog, Eventlog)
- Container management and orchestration using Docker, Kubernetes
- Experience in configuration management and deployment tools (Ansible is desirable)
- Experience in working with virtualization tools (Vmware, Hyper-V)
- Scripting experience (Bash, Python)
- Knowledge of tools (for example: Jira, Confluence, Git)
- Good English language skills (both written and spoken)
- German language skills represent an advantage
