Job Introduction
FREQUENTIS Solutions & Services (FSS) as a member of the Austrian Group FREQUENTIS AG, is focused on software development, system engineering and delivery of safety-critical voice communication and information systems. Our solutions are developed and distributed in the following business segments: Air Traffic Management & Defence (civil and military air traffic control, aeronautical information management), Public Safety (police, fire and rescue services, emergency medical services) and Public Transport & Maritime (railway and urban transport solutions, vessel traffic management).

As security requirements continue to evolve across our products and customer projects, we are looking for an experienced Senior Security Manager to strengthen our security expertise and help drive security initiatives across the organization.

In this role, you will work closely with project teams, architects, infrastructure specialists, and customers to ensure security requirements are properly implemented throughout the system lifecycle. You will contribute to security risk assessments, security concept development, system hardening activities, and the continuous improvement of security practices across products and projects.

Key Tasks
  • Support projects and product teams in implementing security requirements and best practices
  • Conduct security risk and threat analyses for products and customer projects
  • Develop and review security concepts for systems, products, and customer solutions
  • Identify security risks and define mitigation measures
  • Support system hardening activities across infrastructure and application environments
  • Participate in security-related integration and implementation activities
  • Provide guidance on security standards, regulations, and industry best practices
  • Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and project teams to improve the overall security posture of delivered solutions
  • Contribute to security awareness and deliver security-related training and knowledge sharing activities
  • Support continuous improvement of security processes, standards, and methodologies
Key Qualifications
Technical Skills & Competencies
  • Experience in information security, cyber security, or security engineering roles
  • Strong understanding of security principles for systems, applications, and network infrastructures
  • Experience performing security risk assessments and threat analysis
  • Knowledge of secure system and software design principles
  • Experience with Linux administration, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments
  • Scripting and automation experience using Python, Bash, Ansible, or similar technologies
  • Understanding of system, application, and network security concepts
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies and modern platform environments
  • Knowledge of CI/CD principles and secure development practices is considered an advantage
  • Experience supporting security hardening and remediation activities
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
