Job Introduction
FREQUENTIS Solutions & Services (FSS) as a member of the Austrian Group FREQUENTIS AG, is focused on software development, system engineering and delivery of safety-critical voice communication and information systems. Our solutions are developed and distributed in the following business segments: Air Traffic Management & Defence (civil and military air traffic control, aeronautical information management), Public Safety (police, fire and rescue services, emergency medical services) and Public Transport & Maritime (railway and urban transport solutions, vessel traffic management).

We are looking for an experienced Senior Security Engineer to strengthen our Network & Infrastructure Services (NIS) organization and help improve the security posture of our network environments. In this role, you will work closely with Information Security Officers and security teams to translate security requirements, compliance obligations, and audit findings into practical technical implementations across network infrastructure.

Key Tasks
  • Implement network security requirements defined by Information Security Officers and security teams
  • Apply security hardening measures across network infrastructure, including firewalls, routing, switching, and network segmentation
  • Translate compliance requirements and audit findings into technical configurations and operational improvements
  • Drive vulnerability remediation activities and support continuous security improvement initiatives
  • Reduce remediation lead times and support the timely resolution of identified security issues
  • Perform vulnerability remediation
  • Improve technical documentation, security evidence collection, and audit traceability
  • Act as a senior escalation point for network security-related topics
  • Contribute to strengthening security standards and operational practices across the organization
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, operations, and security teams to ensure compliance with internal and external security requirements
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of secure network environments
Key Qualifications
Technical Skills & Competencies
  • Experience in network engineering, including routing, switching, and firewall technologies
  • Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices
  • Experience with vulnerability management and remediation activities
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements, security standards, and audit processes
  • Ability to translate security and compliance requirements into practical technical solutions
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in network environments
  • Experience with technical documentation and audit-related activities
  • Ability to balance security requirements with operational and business needs
  • Experience with security hardening and implementation of security controls
