Job Introduction
FREQUENTIS Solutions & Services (FSS) as a member of the Austrian Group FREQUENTIS AG, is focused on software development, system engineering and delivery of safety-critical voice communication and information systems. Our solutions are developed and distributed in the following business segments: Air Traffic Management & Defence (civil and military air traffic control, aeronautical information management), Public Safety (police, fire and rescue services, emergency medical services) and Public Transport & Maritime (railway and urban transport solutions, vessel traffic management).​


Voice and data communication is crucial for any air traffic control service. Our Independent Verification & Validation Team is responsible for the evaluation of the developed product and project solutions. Its primary task is the technical quality assurance of our systems, using various methods of verification and validation (Acceptance, Use Cases, Operational Scenarios…). Within the Independent Verification & Validation Team, the customer is at the center of attention — ensuring that the required solutions in the safety‑critical field of air traffic management are evaluated in the best possible way, assessed independently, and that the release process on the part of product development and project execution is supported to the highest standard.
Key Tasks
  • Take part in daily work of the Scrum team: Attend daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives. Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and other team members to ensure quality is built into the product from the start
  • Test management: Design, review and refine test strategies, test plans and test specifications based on project and product requirements as well as system design and architecture
  • Test execution and Defect management: Execute system tests in complex environments (incl. Acceptance Verification, Use Case Validation). Document defects with lifecycle tools such as JIRA, JAMA and automation frameworks to ensure efficient testing processes
  • Documentation: Document and communicate test progress clearly, from requirements through execution to final results and problem reports, create independent quality reports
  • Reviews: Review system and user requirements and contribute your technical perspective to ensure clarity and quality
Key Qualifications
  • VOIP domain: telecommunications, networking, RFC 3261 standard; software application experience - audio (voice), video, multimedia and metadata over IP networks, transformation of analog signals into data packets and ensuring efficient, secure, and high-quality delivery; legacy interfaces for voice communication
  • Linux domain: CLI navigation, file viewers & editors, permissions and ownership, package management, system administration & networking basics
  • Programming: Java, Groovy, SQL, Spring, HTML5, XML, RESP API, Selenium, VoIP Databases: SQL Server, Postgres Tools/Platforms: Wireshark, Postman, Github, Maven, Git, Jira, Jama, Confluence
  • Several years of experience in testing, verification and validation of complex projects or product developments using various test tools
  • Experience with integration projects in IT and telecommunications environments (VoIP)


Technical Skills & Competencies 


  • Experience in software/hardware/network testing (Test Environment management)
  • Experience with test phase processes (preparation, execution, evaluation) and documentation (Test Data management)
  • Experience with a BUG reporting (Defect management)
  • Experience with agile software/system development process is an advantage
  • Microsoft Office, Computer literacy and general overview of IT technologies


Personality requirements & Skills


  • Completed technical education (University)
  • Strong social and communication skills, collaborative, connecting, and a reliable team player
  • Very good English skills (written and spoken) are required; Willingness to travel up to approx. 10%
