Job Introduction
The Frequentis Group is an international supplier of communication and information systems for control centres with safety-critical tasks. These ‘Control Centre Solutions’ are developed and distributed by Frequentis in the business segments Air Traffic Management (civil and military air traffic control, aeronautical information management, air defence) and Public Safety & Transport (police, fire and rescue services, emergency medical services, vessel traffic and railways). With headquarters in Vienna, the company employs more than 1800 people worldwide, with subsidiaries, regional offices and representatives in over 50 countries. In Cluj we started in 2009 and our local team currently has 140+ colleagues and is growing.

If you want to work on the largest Aeronautical Information Management system in the world, implemented by Frequentis for Eurocontrol, we look forward to meeting you!  The Aeronautical Information Management system we build at Frequentis is being utilized by users from Eurocontrol or Romatsa. 
Key Tasks
  • Analyse requirements, design and develop software components in Java
  • Offer development support for issues reported in production 
  • Capable of communicating effectively with stakeholders at different levels inside the company
  • Mentor less experienced team members and lead by example in both technical and non-technical aspects of the job.
  • Promote, apply and track development best practices like TDD, high code coverage, SOLID principles, design patterns, static code analysis, continuous integration

Utilize the following development stack:

  • Linux OS
  • Java 8 for software development
  • Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Crucible) for bug tracking, sprint management, documentation and code review activities
  • Subversion, Git for source control
  • Jenkins for continuous integration
  • Sonar for static code analysis
Key Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of software development experience in Java
  • Experience with Spring, Hibernate, JPA
  • Experience with XML technologies (XSD, XSLT, XJB, StAX, SAX, JAXB)
  • Experience with Front-End UI layer (HTML5, CSS3, Javascript)
  • Experience with REST
  • Experience in Agile Scrum methodology
  • Good English knowledge, both written and verbally
  • Available for travelling, if necessary

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Eclipse Xtext, Xtend or Eclipse plugin development
  • Experience with Eclipse Vert.x or other reactive programming frameworks
