Job Introduction
The Frequentis Group is an international supplier of communication and information systems for control centres with safety-critical tasks. These ‘Control Centre Solutions’ are developed and distributed by Frequentis in the business segments Air Traffic Management (civil and military air traffic control, aeronautical information management, air defence) and Public Safety & Transport (police, fire and rescue services, emergency medical services, vessel traffic and railways). With headquarters in Vienna, the company employs more than 1800 people worldwide, with subsidiaries, regional offices and representatives in over 50 countries.
In Cluj we started in 2009 and our local team currently has 140+ colleagues and is growing.
You will work on a microservices based platform, used to integrate multiple products developed by Frequentis. The platform is developed by multiple teams using the SAFe methodology. You will be part of the team responsible for developing and maintaining our automated deployment solution. You will develop reusable services, software packages and libraries to be used by other teams in the company. The product runs on RedHat 7/8, handles the deployment and configuration of the Operating System and supports the configuration and orchestration of services packaged as Docker images.
You will guide the transition of our platform towards cloud-ready technologies.
We are developing for a safety critical environment, following industry standards, where high availability and redundancy are basic requirements.
Key Tasks
- Managing the product backlog for a DevOps team and subject matter experts.
- Assume product accountability of all required changes. Work with the Product Manager to ensure that the right customer requirements are developed by doing things right.
- Define the necessary work packages to be implemented to fulfill all customer needs, including the development of new functionalities, maintenance, efficiency, quality, and performance improvements.
- Fine-tune the product vision – understand the product, the ATM business, our customers and always think ahead, out of the box.
- Ensure product delivery meets technical development requirements when comes to security, performance, and non-functional requirements.
- Participate in agile ceremonies or events to ensure proper refinement, sizing, estimation, planning, review of product backlog items, and understanding of technical solutions.
Key Qualifications
- You have deep knowledge of cloud-native concepts including experience with service-oriented architecture, container technologies, Linux, Kubernetes, CI/CD as well as experience with programming and scripting languages
- You have a positive mindset towards DevOps, automation, agility and teamwork
- You keep the overall direction while being open to new technologies
- You are willing to develop products used in a safety critical environment
- You have experience in working with cross-cultural teams
