Java Developer - Air Traffic Management

Job Introduction
The Frequentis Group is an international supplier of communication and information systems for control centres with safety-critical tasks. These ‘Control Centre Solutions’ are developed and distributed by Frequentis in the business segments Air Traffic Management (civil and military air traffic control, aeronautical information management, air defence) and Public Safety & Transport (police, fire and rescue services, emergency medical services, vessel traffic and railways). With headquarters in Vienna, the company employs more than 2300 people worldwide, with subsidiaries, regional offices and representatives in over 50 countries. In Cluj we started in 2009 and our local team currently has 180+ colleagues and is growing.
As part of our team, you will actively develop products in an international environment, where experienced people will help you further develop your skills and advance in your career.
You will be part of a team working on developing and upgrading operational airport systems. The project will be based on previously developed in-house products, especially Departure Manager (DMAN) and Demand and Capacity Balancer (DCB), both well-known in the ATC domain.
We are developing for a safety-critical environment, following industry safety standards, where high availability and redundancy are essential requirements.
*This position is available only for B2B collaboration and is for a fixed term of 6 months.
Key Tasks
- Software development based on requirements/stories agreed with the customer
- 5-10 years of experience
- Analyze epics, stories and contribute to software design and architecture
- Apply agreed software development processes
- Excellent English knowledge (both written and spoken)
Key Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of software development experience in Java
- Good experience with object-oriented Java programming
- Backend programming experience with Spring Boot framework
- Knowledge of object-oriented concepts, design patterns and SOLID principles
- Java profiling, debugging and unit testing
- Knowledge Hibernate framework
- Passionate about clean, unit tested and maintainable code
- Experience with Docker
- Experience with development tools (e.g., JIRA, GitLab/Bitbucket, Jenkins, Coverity)
- Knowledge of Linux and Bash
