Job Introduction
The Frequentis Group is an international supplier of communication and information systems for control centres with safety-critical tasks. These ‘Control Centre Solutions’ are developed and distributed by Frequentis in the business segments Air Traffic Management (civil and military air traffic control, aeronautical information management, air defence) and Public Safety & Transport (police, fire and rescue services, emergency medical services, vessel traffic and railways). With headquarters in Vienna, the company employs more than 1800 people worldwide, with subsidiaries, regional offices and representatives in over 50 countries.
In Cluj we started in 2009 and our local team has currently 140+ colleagues and is growing.
As part of our team, you will actively develop products in an international environment, where experienced people will help you further develop your skills and advance in your career.
The main product/platform developed by the team is based on a microservices architecture and manages aeronautical information like weather reports, flight plans, drone positioning, airspaces. The end users of the product are designated personnel from the control tower/centres.
System Wide Information Management (SWIM) is an advanced technology framework designed to facilitate greater sharing of Air Traffic Management (ATM) system information, such as airport operational status, weather information, flight data, and status of special use airspace. SWIM is providing a flexible and secure information management architecture for sharing aeronautical information.

Key Tasks
- Create, implement, and run automated tests using an internal, Java based, automation framework
- Participate in all levels of testing: component, integration, and system tests
- Involvement in Agile Scrum specific ceremonies
- Collaborate with the stakeholders (Frequentis colleagues, customers) to understand the software requirements for products/applications and drive the testing forward
- Interpret and document test results
- Maintain product documentation
- Prepare and hold customer demos, as part of the Scrum team
Key Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of automation testing experience with Java frameworks
- Experienced in testing both frontend and backend components
- Attention to details
- Provide feedback and improvement ideas in product functionalities
- Open to learn and understand a new functional domain (UTM)
- Experience with testing microservices is a plus
- Team player
- Good English skills (both written and spoken)
