Systems Security Engineer

Job Introduction
Frequentis USA designs, develops, manufactures, markets, and distributes Frequentis technologies for FAA, NASA,and state and local governments. Frequentis USA is headquartered in Columbia, Maryland operating a local manufacturing plant serving its U.S. customers.
Key Tasks
  • Designs, develops, and implements IA and security configurations for networking, computing, and our propriety communications equipment
  • Analyzes customer requirements and establishes system security design
  • Provides systems and integration engineering support for software and hardware systems, subsystems, and modules.
  • Completes system and software vulnerability scanning using industry standard tools (e.g., NESSUS) 
  • Contributes to the security planning, assessment, risk analysis, risk management, certification, and awareness activities for assigned programs
  • Implements system security management tools (IdM, Active Directory Certificate Services, SSL, IPSec/VPN)

Key Qualifications
  • BS in Information Technology, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience with IT systems security and engineering
  • 3-5 years' experience as a Systems Engineer and/or Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) for Government programs
  • Proficient in RHEL operating system.  Knowledgeable in Windows operating system
  • Security+ Certification, or similar
  • Knowledge of, and practical experience with the NIST Special Publications 800 Series, CNSSI 1253, and DoD 8500
  • Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S Resident
  • Must be willing to travel up to 20% depending on project requirements
  • Customer sites for system installations, testing, on-site troubleshooting as required
  • Internationally to receive equipment or technology training at company headquarters in Vienna, Austria, whenever applicable and possible
  • Finger printing and job-related background check will be required
  • Must be authorized to work in United States and obtain clearances to work on Government sites
