Job Introduction

The Audio and Video Competence Centre within Frequentis Hardware & Embedded Technologies ensures excellent transmission quality across the company’s safety critical communication systems. This responsibility requires a solid understanding of technical fundamentals as well as a careful and structured way of working. The scope of responsibilities ranges from evaluating new hardware and software technologies and products for use in our solutions to supporting customers with complex audio and video–related issues across all Frequentis business domains.
Key Tasks
  • Would you like to support the selection, evaluation, and qualification of new hardware and software technologies as well as commercially available products (e.g. camera systems) for use in safety critical systems?
  • Would you like to help define specifications for quality standards and measurement methods for IP based media streaming and verify them as part of product and project development?
  • Can you imagine supporting our product teams, projects, and customers from all Frequentis business domains with complex technical questions?
  • Do you enjoy working with suppliers and occasional travel to partners and customers (2–3 times per year)?
Key Qualifications
Technical Qualifications
  • Completed technical degree with a focus on media technology, information and communications technology, telecommunications, or similar
  • Experience with IP based media streaming, particularly packetization and encoding techniques (e.g. SIP, RTP, RTSP, G.711, H.264)
  • Practical experience with testing and measurement equipment as well as relevant quality standards (e.g. ITU T, ISO/IEC)
  • Basic knowledge of embedded hardware and circuit design
  • Knowledge of computer vision and digital signal processing is an advantage
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems

Salary
The remuneration for this position consists of: The collective agreement minimum salary of EUR 43,529 gross per year (based on a 38.5 hour week) PLUS an overpayment in line with the market depending on your professional qualifications and experience.
