The Director of the Business Unit Tower has a group-wide leadership role within the Frequentis ATM Civil Market Segment. This role is accountable for managing the business unit strategic and commercial (P&L) development with high customer satisfaction in all operations and related services. The Director BU Tower functionally manages roughly 100 employees, organized in several departments.   
 
The main responsibility is to provide sound leadership and create commercially successful businesses based on long-term strategies, focusing on winning products, solutions, and services in global ATM markets. This includes portfolio management, sales development and support for global FRQ Regional sales, leadership in integrated product and software offerings, and managing customer delivery projects as a prime or subcontractor using scalable delivery models.

The Director BU ATM Tower is a member of the ATM Board reporting to the EVP of Frequentis ATM Civil strategic business unit. 
Key Tasks
  • Creating the long-term vision and business strategy for the unit.  
  • With the team, annual financial planning, and allocation of the groupwide ATM Tower business, including Order Intake, Operating performance, R&D Budget, Product and solution budget, sales budget and profit and loss plan – with solid execution plans of the strategy and commercials.    
  • You will be the main driver to developing and enabling the organisation for the growth by excelling in the software business and delivery models for complex SW deliveries based on the cross legal entity projects and products components.   
  • You ensure that all BU ATM Tower plans and operations are compliant with the ATM guidelines and governance (ATM central Services) for Sales, Technology and Portfolio, Financials and Delivery Operations. Your relevant organisation (Domain Sales, Operations, R&D, F&C) will report in matrix to these central roles.   
  • You will be a promoter of a culture that supports innovation, collaboration, knowledge transfer, and continuous learning across the organization. 
  • According to ATM guidelines, you will be responsible for defining objectives, measuring performance, and ensuring goal achievement for your team and the ATM business unit. 
  • In your respective business domain, you will act as a representative of Frequentis to customers, key opinion leaders, academic circles, and industry groups, and build strong relationships with all your internal and external stakeholders. 
  • You will continuously contribute your industry expertise to the Frequentis Group’s strategies and business models.
Key Qualifications
  • You have at least 5 years of general management experience and more than 7 years of experience in business, product management or development and/or sales in a safety- or mission-critical sector. 
  • You have an academic degree and a background in the IT and software industry.  
  • You have professional experience in working with public authorities or related organizations in the field of aviation or other safety-critical environments. 
  • You have proven experience in designing and implementing growth strategies for existing and new business areas. 
  • You have expertise in developing and implementing innovative go-to-market and business models that create value for customers and stakeholders. 
  • You have strong communication skills with different stakeholders, as well as critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • You are very good at making decisions based on data and insights. 
  • You are familiar and used to work in complex matrix organisations based on different business units and legal entities structure.  
  • You promote a mindset “never accept that the organisation could not do better” and you lead by examples to deliver this quote. 
  • You have an excellent command of English; other language skills are an advantage. 
  • You travel internationally by 30-50%.

Salary
The remuneration for this position consists of: The collective agreement minimum salary of EUR 80.000 gross per year (based on a 38.5 hour week) PLUS an overpayment in line with the market depending on your professional qualifications and experience.
