Key Tasks
  • Design, implement, and operate Azure cloud architectures for production, staging, and development environments 
  • Own and improve Azure landing zones, networking, identity, security, and governance concepts 
  • Operate and optimize Azure services including VMs, networking, storage, backup, monitoring, and cost management 
  • Implement and enforce security, compliance, and governance controls (RBAC, policies, conditional access, logging) 
  • Support projects across the full lifecycle, design, deployment, migration, and operational handover 
  • Troubleshoot complex cloud and hybrid infrastructure issues in production environments 
  • Drive automation and standardization using Infrastructure as Code and scripting (Terraform) 
  • Maintain high-quality technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational runbooks 
  • Act as a senior technical contact for cloud-related topics within NIS and towards internal stakeholders 
  • Ability to independently evaluate and compare different cloud service providers (e.g., Azure, AWS, A1) as fit for our environment
Key Qualifications
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering, with strong focus on Microsoft Azure 
  • Solid experience designing and operating enterprise-scale Azure environments 
  • Strong understanding of: 
    • Azure networking (VNets, peering, VPNs, firewalls, routing) 
    • Identity & access management (Azure AD, RBAC, Conditional Access) 
    • Security, monitoring, and logging concepts 
  • Experience with hybrid infrastructures (Azure + on prem) 
  • Hands-on experience with automation / IaC (e.g. Bicep, ARM, Terraform, PowerShell) 
  • Familiarity with operational processes, incident handling, and audit requirements 
  • Structured, analytical mindset with strong ownership mentality 
  • Very good English skills

Salary
The remuneration for this position consists of: The collective agreement minimum salary of EUR 51,600 gross per year (based on a 38.5 hour week) PLUS an overpayment in line with the market depending on your professional qualifications and experience.
