Job Introduction

In this multifaceted role, you will be responsible for the financial and commercial management of publicly funded projects (e.g., EC, FFG programs) as well as the commercial review of complex large-scale bids. You will ensure commercial compliance with funding and tender requirements, optimize financial processes, and act as the central interface between project teams, tender management, and the executive board. Your contribution will be crucial in minimizing financial risks in both customer and funding projects and in the successful implementation of strategic projects. Key Tasks
Commercial bid review and management: 
  • Commercial review of large bids and tenders 
  • Analysis of risks and opportunities for bid approvals, preparation for the Executive Board 
  • Development and adaptation of calculation guidelines and standards 
  • Collaboration on new business models and their financial representation 
  • Early involvement in bidding processes to ensure financial targets are met 
 Financial management and controlling for funded projects: 
  • Preparation and review of cost statements for EC and FFG-funded projects 
  • Ensuring compliance with funding rules (costs, hourly rates, overheads) 
  • Budget monitoring, including forecasting and variance analysis
  • Coordination of financial reporting and audit support 
  • Ongoing updates on funding regulations and commercial best practices
Key Qualifications
  • Completed degree in finance, accounting, or a comparable field 
  • Several years of experience in finance and project management as well as in commercial bid evaluation 
  • Fundamental expertise in controlling, accounting, treasury, and contract management 
  • Knowledge of funding regulations (e.g., Horizon 2020) and funding reporting requirements 
  • Strong communication skills, assertiveness 
  • Analytical thinking, accuracy, and structured approach to work 
  • Proactive approach, flexibility 
  • Basic technical understanding and experience in project business is an advantage 
  • Very good German and English skills

Salary
The remuneration for this position consists of: The minimum salary of EUR 50,500 gross per year (based on a 38.5 hour week) PLUS an overpayment in line with the market depending on your professional qualifications and experience.
