Job Introduction
Frequentis Group with headquarters in Vienna is an international supplier of communication and information systems for control centres with safety-critical tasks. The NIS (Network and Infrastructure Services) department designs, builds and services IT solutions for use in worldwide customer projects. 

  1. You are part of a central team responsible for providing Subject Matter Expert (SME) knowledge and services to internal and external customers in the area of Network and IT infrastructure 
  2. You translate our customer requirements into a technical solution concept/tender based on Frequentis products 
  3. Being responsible for our solution design, you have to coordinate with the Technical Solution Manager or Solution Architect and support our product centres and customer project teams with the management of their IT Life Cycle, including consulting on new and deprecated features, protocols and technologies 
  4. You manage the technical relationship with our suppliers and take care of the 2nd and 3rd line support of our network and infrastructure solutions as well as Offer Management and Procurement
Key Tasks
As an experienced IT generalist you have: 

  • Broad knowledge of the IT stack 
  • Practical experience designing and configuring IT systems for both on-premises and public cloud-based workloads
  • Working knowledge of functional and non-functional requirements
  • Experience with security engineering practices and standards
  • A fundamental understanding of network engineering and configuration of network devices
  • Professional experience in the field of IT infrastructure in at least two of the following areas: 
      • Virtualization (VMware, KVM)
      • Public Cloud (Azure, AWS) 
      • Linux (RHEL) 
      • Windows Server 
      • Kubernetes & Red Hat OpenShift
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in field of expertise
  • Technology based certification e.g. RHEL, Azure (preferred)
  • Very good communication, analytical, problem solving & interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated for continuous learning and improvement
  • Very good knowledge of German and English (written and spoken)

Salary
The remuneration for this position consists of: The collective agreement minimum salary of EUR 45,208 gross per year (based on a 38.5 hour week) PLUS an overpayment in line with the market depending on your professional qualifications and experience.
