Job Introduction

Air traffic controllers (ATCOs) help Military pilots to conduct their flights in a safe and expeditious manner. ATCOs provide vital flight information, navigational assistance and instructions with the help of dedicated systems. Frequentis delivers the necessary communication, navigation, surveillance and automation systems, which ensure highest performance, safety and efficiency for air traffic control. The “Military Air Traffic Management Portfolio” team is part of our Defence business unit and has the goal of establishing new and innovative air traffic control solutions with military customers. Join us to shape the future of deployable towers! Help us modernize air traffic control towers with new and innovative solutions. In this journey you will setup and demonstrate our solutions in a professional manner. You will take responsibility for delivering and implementing them onsite with our customers at military air bases worldwide. And you will be the primary point of contact with regards to system setup and implementation in a growing team.
Key Tasks
  • Our demonstration systems for air traffic solutions are in good hands with you - you set up these systems, ensure ongoing maintenance and prepare them for customer presentations. 
  • Together with the Business Development Manager, you will present these solutions to international customers and at fair events. You are responsible for the technical part. 
  • You will conduct feasibility studies to be able to evaluate the implementation of new technologies and system concepts. 
  • If we are successful with the customer, you will implement our Frequentis solution from installation, configuration, failure analysis to acceptance by the customer and become THE technical contact person for the customer. 
  • You will work and coordinate the technical solution with technical and project teams across the company.
Key Qualifications
  • first relevant professional experience as a system engineer or system administrator
  • technical background with focus on IT, no matter if apprenticeship, study or career change 
  • good Linux knowledge and practical experience, Linux certifications such as Red Hat Certified System Administrator etc. are an advantage 
  • first experience with networks (Layer2 + Layer3) and ideally protocol knowledge (UDP, TCP, Multicast) 
  • very good knowledge of English due to international business trips (approx. 25%) and eager to work in the field of air traffic management 
  • enjoy working with military customers
  • You enjoy interacting with colleagues and have a proactive and networked way of working
