Why does your role matter?

As part of Frequentis, you will be working on systems that protect lives and enable hundreds of thousands of people to travel safely every single day. In your role, you will be responsible for the ongoing technical integration, operation, and further development of IT-based voice communication systems and air traffic management solutions for our international customers. Our partnerships with air navigation service providers worldwide have been in place for decades – built on trust, responsibility, and technical excellence.

Key Tasks

• Act as the technical backbone and sparring partner within project teams delivering IT-based voice communication systems in international air traffic management.

• Design, integrate, and take ownership of solutions and IT systems that are highly available, safety-critical, and forward-looking.

• Lead teams in a lateral way – not through hierarchy, but through expertise, clarity, and trust.

• Coordinate technical concepts, interfaces, and system architectures with internal and external stakeholders.

• Serve as the key technical contact for the customer – working as equals with partners who truly value quality.

Key Qualifications

• At least 7 years of experience in system engineering, complex IT infrastructures, or technical project environments.

• Strong technical expertise in Linux, networks, and VoIP.

• Experience with monitoring systems (e.g. Zabbix) and logging stacks (OpenSearch, ELK), as well as Docker, virtualization (ESXi), session border controllers, and SIP registrar/proxy is a plus.

• Enthusiasm for continuously integrating software modules and carrying out end-to-end validation both on internal test systems and at the customer’s site.

• You think in solutions and communicate clearly and reliably – with developers, project managers, and customers alike.

• You are fluent in English – and understand how crucial language is when working with safety-critical systems.

• You are willing to travel internationally (approx. 20–30%).

Salary

The remuneration for this position consists of: The collective agreement minimum salary of EUR 45.206,00 gross per year (based on a 38.5 hour week) PLUS an overpayment in line with the market depending on your professional qualifications and experience.
